Keith Strassner is the director of the office of technology and economic development where he focuses on commercialization of Missouri S&T’s technology assets via licenses, partnerships and entrepreneurial activities, including development of Missouri S&T’s Innovation Park. He served on the boards of the Rolla Regional Economic Commission; Tech44®, an economic development program to attract technology-enabled companies to the Interstate 44 corridor in Missouri; and as chair of the board of directors for Missouri Enterprise, a National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partner.
Since joining Missouri S&T in 2005, Strassner has presented on successful methods of “doing business” with a university at a number of industry-sponsored events, including IEEE’s International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference in 2013 and the American Ceramic Society’s Innovations in Biomedical Materials in 2012.
Strassner spent 26 years in the private sector principally in the chemical and material industries. His most recent industrial position was as the assistant director for alliances and government relations at Brewer Science Inc. He spent 16 years with Petrolite Corp. (now Baker-Hughes Corp.), a specialty chemical company, holding a variety of technical, business development and marketing positions, including manager of new business development and director of research and development.
Strassner earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Missouri S&T in 1979 and a master of arts degree in marketing from Webster University in 1988.
